Volleyball on the Beach in Bunbury

Bunbury locals and tourists alike have much to look forward to in February 2018 with the Bunbury Volleyball Association signing on to take part in the Australian Beach Games Bunbury Festival to be held at the upgraded Koombana Bay foreshore on February 9-11, 2018, bringing beach volleyball to the growing list of sports on offer at the rapidly growing festival.

With live music, food trucks, drinks and entertainment, paired with sports played on and around the beach, Australian Beach Games is going to be an absolutely incredible multisport festival held over one mammoth weekend for the entire family.

The event takes place in five states across the country. With thousands of participants and tens of thousands of spectators expected at all events, an exceptionally wide range of sports are on offer to cater for all ages and abilities. The sports on offer are location dependent, and with the signing of this agreement, participants in Bunbury will be able to compete in the incredibly popular sport of beach volleyball.

“Bunbury Volleyball Association is thrilled to be partnering with Australian Beach Games to provide a beach volleyball tournament for our area”, said Warren McVittie, Vice President of the Club. “We look forward to a great tournament and encourage all regional towns to get on board for what will be a significant sporting event for Bunbury and surrounds”.

We’re thrilled to be offering such a fun sport to the region at this year’s Festival”.

Bunbury Mayor, Gary Brennan, said the Australian Beach Games will be the first event to make use of the revitalised Koombana Bay foreshore. “I am excited about this high profile event being held in Bunbury as it will showcase our city and also our fantastic new foreshore to a wide audience”, Mr Brennan said. “The Australian Beach Games is one of several major events heading to Bunbury over the coming months that will bring significant economic and social events to the city and the Bunbury-Geographe region”.
